When to crop an image

Cropping removes unwanted edges and reframes the subject. Use it for profile images, product photos, blog thumbnails, marketplace listings, presentation graphics, and upload forms that need a cleaner composition.

FAQ

Does this crop images locally?

Yes. The image is loaded and cropped with browser canvas on your device. It is not uploaded to a server.

Can I crop to a square?

Yes. Use the Square 1:1 preset for a quick square crop, then drag the crop box or handles to refine the composition.

Can I export a circle profile image?

Yes. Choose the Profile circle preset or Circle PNG crop shape. The tool keeps the crop area square and exports a transparent PNG circle.

Which output formats can I download?

You can export PNG or JPEG. PNG is better for transparency and sharp graphics; JPEG is often smaller for photos.

Is cropping the same as resizing?

No. Cropping removes part of the image. Resizing scales the whole image to different dimensions.
