Remove common image metadata locally

Re-export an image through browser canvas as a fresh PNG or JPEG. This removes common embedded metadata for everyday sharing, but it is not a forensic metadata guarantee for every format.

Your image stays in this browser tab. No server upload is used.

FAQ

Does this upload my image?

No. The image is decoded and re-exported in your browser. LocalMini does not receive the image.

Does canvas export remove EXIF metadata?

For common browser-supported images, re-exporting through canvas typically creates a fresh image without common embedded metadata such as EXIF. It is still a best-effort browser tool, not a forensic guarantee.

Should I use PNG or JPEG?

Use PNG for crisp graphics or transparency. Use JPEG for photos when you want a smaller file and can accept lossy compression.

Can this remove visible watermarks?

No. It only re-encodes the image file. It does not edit visible pixels such as watermarks, text, or objects.
