Favicon generator

Generate favicon PNG sizes locally

Upload one image and create common favicon PNG sizes. The image is fitted inside each square canvas without cropping.

Favicon PNGs are generated in this browser tab. No upload is used.

Outputs: 16x16, 32x32, 48x48, 180x180, 192x192, 512x512 PNG. The source image is fit within each square, not cropped. Use white background removal when the uploaded image has a white canvas that should become transparent or reveal a solid favicon background.

Local processing: Your source image is resized into favicon PNGs in your browser. It is not uploaded to the LocalMini server.

When to generate favicon sizes

Use this tool when a website, prototype, app icon, or static site needs several square PNG icon sizes from one logo or image. The result is a set of separate PNG downloads; you still need to add the files to your site and reference the appropriate icons in your HTML or web app manifest.

Which PNG size should I use?

16x16, 32x32, and 48x48: use these for small browser favicon or shortcut contexts supported by your site setup. 180x180: use this for an Apple touch icon. 192x192 and 512x512: use these as common web app manifest icon sizes.

Your framework, CMS, or hosting template may request different file names or markup. This generator creates the PNGs, but it does not edit your HTML, theme, or manifest.

Worked example and checks

Start with a simple square logo, keep a transparent background, and generate all sizes. Download the 32x32 PNG for a browser favicon, the 180x180 PNG for an Apple touch icon, and the 192x192 and 512x512 PNGs for a manifest. Add only the files your site configuration uses.

Check the 16x16 and 32x32 previews carefully: fine text, thin strokes, and detailed photos can become unclear at favicon size. The tool fits the full image inside a square instead of cropping it, and it does not create an ICO file or ZIP bundle.

FAQ

Are the favicon images uploaded?

No. The source image is loaded and resized in your browser. LocalMini does not receive the image.

Which favicon sizes are generated?

The tool creates 16x16, 32x32, 48x48, 180x180, 192x192, and 512x512 PNG files.

Does this create an ICO file?

No. This batch creates individual PNG favicon sizes. Many modern sites can use PNG icons directly.

How do I add the generated files to my website?

Download the sizes your site needs, place them with your website assets, and reference them through your HTML, CMS theme, or web app manifest. The exact file paths and markup depend on your site setup.

Will the image be cropped?

No. The uploaded image is fit inside each square canvas so the full image remains visible.

Why does my logo look unclear at 16x16 or 32x32?

Very small icons cannot preserve much detail. Try a simpler mark with thicker shapes, less text, and stronger contrast, then check the generated small previews before publishing.
